Gealan is one of the main manufacturers of PVC profiles for doors and windows. The group offers three ranges of products and operates across the whole of Europe, particularly in the emerging markets of Eastern Europe such as Romania, Slovakia and the Baltic states.

History

Since its creation in 1956 by Adam Fickenscher, Gealan has built up considerable know-how in the extrusion of PVC profiles. Since 1990, the group has been expanding strongly especially in the Eastern European countries. The group went through a first Buyout led by GIMV and Gealan management. Since end 2004, the investment fund APEF II holds 51% of the company alongside management, GIMV (divesture) and other financial institutions.

Strategy

Gealan’s medium term strategy is to consolidate its position in Eastern Europe and increase its presence in certain countries in Western Europe. This strategy will be implemented by pursuing investments in local subsidiaries and the establishment of distribution chains in new markets.
