Eurofarad
Activity
Eurofarad is one of the leaders on the French market for passive components
such as condensers, filters, potentiometers and revolving collectors.
The
group has adopted a firm strategy of high added value products.
It has an
undeniable competitive edge due to its technological know-how.
Eurofarad is
also involved in the fields of civil and military aviation and the space
industry where it occupies one of the top positions in cabling for aircraft and
satellites.
Context
A company founded in 1965 by two entrepreneurs, Eurofarad has gradually
acquired a certain number of companies that have enabled it to consolidate its
position on the French market.
End 1997, the founders sold off their group to
senior managers backed by financial investors.
Strategy
AXA Private Equity Fund is a major shareholder in the group.
Its role was
to assist Eurofarad in identifying and financing acquisitions, in particular in
Europe, so as to find springboards for growth in the French market.
A number
of acquisition opportunities under study should reinforce the group’s strategic
positioning.
Divestment
In March 2004, AXA Private Equity sold off its stake to CDC Ixis Equity
Capital, who were acting in association with Eurofarad group
management.
