Sita Northumberland

Activity :

Following a bidding process, a consortium led by Sita UK - a subsidiary of the Suez Group dedicated to waste management was awarded in 2006 a waste PFI contract (Project Finance Initiative, a public-private partnership contract) with the Northumberland City Council. the 28-year PFI contract covers integrated waste services and includes the construction of a waste-to-energy project.

History :

AXA Private Equity, invited by Sita UK, acquired a 15% ownership in the project company, Sita Northumberland.

Strategy :

The project operated by Sita UK under a long-term operating contract, benefits from long-term waste supply contract. This structure allows AXA Private Equity for a good visibility on the performance of the project.
