AXA Private Equity led the first Genod financing round to raise € 2.1 million
Paris, Tuesday March 2, 2004

AXA Private Equity, leading Private Equity house, led the first Genod S.A. (Global Electronics Network Operated Devices) financing round to raise € 2.1 million (€ 1.4 million from AXA Private Equity). This round includes key participations from Emertec Gestion (€ 0.7 million) and business angel Marc Frouin - CEO of TNI/Valiosys a technology leader in verification tools for the EDA and embedded software markets - (€ 0.1 million).

Genod is a leading fabless company, which specialises in highly integrated real-time embedded systems for data processing

Genod masters a leading edge micro-system design methodology combining System-on-Chip (SOC) - a patented switch-matrix bus structure to facilitate bandwidth management - and System in Package (SIP) design encompassing a state-of-the-art flexible and re-configurable computer system.

Current applications are in the area of new generations of smart cameras to process data at the point of capture for security and surveillance systems as well as highly integrated data acquisition and processing systems for industrial/military applications.

The benefits for the clients are numerous: an open, flexible and re-configurable architecture, rugged and compact package and many standard applications available to achieve shorter ‘time-to-market’ as well as extended product life.

“Genod will use the capital investment to further develop its technology for the supply of multimedia network operated devices and to establish its lead in the infrastructure, transport and defence markets “, said Didier Rousseau, CEO of Genod SA.

“Thanks to its technology, Genod has been able to develop a miniature video network operated camera which offers strong computing performances and matches the level of performance of many applications in its targeted markets”, said Marc Frouin, business angel.
